Description

CHARACTERISTICS

Top Latex is a reinforcing and hydrophobic additive, white coloured, based on special water emulsions. It can be used mixed in all cement mortars as: adhesives, skim coats, specific mortars etc, improving its manageability, resistance, bonding and waterproofing characteristics.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

SUBSTRATES PREPARATION

Substrates which have to be treated with cement mortars adding TOP LATEX have to be in good conditions and solid, cured, with no dust, grease, oil, paints or efflorescences traces. Plasters should be cured for 1 week per centimetre at least, in optimal conditions of humidity and temperature (20°-23°C). The cement substrates don’t have to be subject to shrinking after the tiling. In case of cementitious screeds they will be cured for at least 28 days. In case of extreme heat or exposition to the sunlight, wet the surfaces with water to cool them.

PRODUCT PREPARATION

Mix the product related to the degree of the deformability and bonding you want to obtain basing on your needs. Example:

If you want to obtain a glue highly deformable with an excellent bonding, TOP LATEX can be used concentrated 100%. It is suggested to mix:

kg 5 TOP LATEX and one sack of kg 25 METAKOLL

kg 2,5 TOP LATEX and one sack of kg 25 FLEX TOP 100

If you want to obtain a glue deformable with a good bonding, TOP LATEX can be used concentrated 50% (mix with water in ratio 1:1). So it is suggested to mix:

kg 3 TOP LATEX and water for one sack of kg 25 METAKOLL

kg 1,5 TOP LATEX and water for one sack of kg 25 FLEX TOP 100

If you want to obtain a good workability in a plaster or a cementitious screed, TOP LATEX can be used concentrated 100% and mixed as suggested:

From kg 0,250 to kg 1 TOP LATEX for kg 100 of cement plaster.

MIXTURE PREPARATION

Pour the dust into the liquid mixing at low number of rotations to form a homogeneous, lump free paste. Let it stand for about 5 minutes, mix again briefly and proceed with the application.
